DIY: Clay Caterpillar Craft

DIY: Clay Caterpillar Craft

Get ready for a fun project! ๐Ÿ›

We're going to show you how to create a cute caterpillar out of clay.

This craft will be featured at the Kids Club event at the Shops at Santa Anita next week on May 16, 2024! If you would like to learn more about the event and attend, check out their latest information HERE!

Let's get started!

What You Need to Create your Caterpillar Friend:

Step 1: Roll Green and Blue Clay to create the Body ๐Ÿ›

Create 3 blue rolled pieces of clay and 3 green pieces of clay.

If you do not have blue and green clay you can use other alternating colors or just create a caterpillar with all one color and use 6 rolled pieces of clay of the same color.

Make sure to roll the pieces all at the same size for the caterpillar's body!

Step 2: Attach Rolled Clay Together

Push together the blue and green pieces in an alternating pattern, like in the photo below!

Step 3: Roll white and black clay to create the eyes ๐Ÿ‘€

Roll very small pieces of clay from both the white and black clay in order to create the eye balls and pupils of the caterpillar.

Make the black clay pieces smaller than the white to create the pupil.

Attach the white piece first to the top of the large clay pieces to create the eyeball.

Attach the small black pieces on top of the white to complete your caterpillar's eyes.

Step 4: Your New Caterpillar friend is complete!
